Portulex is a lexical database in European Portuguese that contains words from reading texts in children’s schoolbooks for reading and language instruction in Grades 1 to 4. It comprises a wordform and a lemma database. The wordform database consists of 17,062 inflected wordforms, and the lemma database of 8,392 uninflected words. Each entry is tagged with length in number of letters (NLet), Part-of-Speech classification (POS) and absolute frequency of occurrence separately for each grade (G1 F; G2 F; G3 F; G4 F) and jointly for Grades 1 to 4 (G1-4 F). The wordform database also includes an open vs. closed class classification (CAF) and a detailed POS classification (POSd).
